On June 22, Rapidus disclosed an additional ¥150 billion ($943 million) in funding from Japan’s Information‑processing Promotion Agency (IPA), bringing its total financing to ¥424.95 billion .

The new funds, allocated under the Information Processing Promotion Act, follow ¥100 billion from IPA earlier this year. Combined with ¥167.6 billion from 32 corporate investors – including Canon, Fujitsu, Sony, NTT, SoftBank, and the Development Bank of Japan – the company’s capital and reserves now stand at ¥274.95 billion.
Since FY2022, Rapidus has also received subsidies from NEDO for US‑Japan collaborative 2nm chip integration and 2nm‑class chiplet design/manufacturing. The company aims for 2nm logic chip mass production by 2027 , with the new funding supporting the transition from R&D to fab construction. Further government and private capital are expected.
